For the second straight year, the heartwarming story of Kentucky-bred Cody’s Wish has been voted the 2023 NTRA Moment of the Year based on the results of nearly 4,000 votes, it was announced on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

Cody’s Wish once again thrilled fans at the 2023 Breeders’ Cup and his namesake, the late Cody Dorman, winning the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) for the second consecutive year. The 5-year-old son of Curlin edged Preakness S. (G1) winner National Treasure in the Dirt Mile at Santa Anita, taking down top prize for Godolphin and trainer Bill Mott. Cody’s Wish won the race with Cody and his family in attendance.

The Moment of the Year will be recognized during the 53rd Annual Eclipse Awards at the Breakers Palm Beach in Florida on Jan. 25.
