Kentucky-bred Casa Creed successfully defended his title in the $500,000 Fourstardave H. (G1) at Saratoga on Saturday, Aug. 12, winning the one-mile turf test for the second straight year. With the impressive score, Casa Creed secured a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) as the Fourstardave is a “Win and You’re In” Breeders’ Cup Challenge race.

Owned by LRE Racing and JEH Racing Stable and trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott, Casa Creed, a seven-year-old, surged late to collar Annapolis en route to a three-quarter length score in 1:34.20. Last year, he defeated eventual Champion Female Turf Horse Regal Glory in the 2022 renewal of the Fourstardave. This year’s victory made Casa Creed a dual Grade 1 winner of a NYRA stakes race for the second time in his career after winning the Jaipur in 2021-22 at Belmont Park.

“To run in four straight Fourstadaves, regardless of where you finish is a ridiculous accomplishment,” said co-owner Lee Einsidler. “To win it two years in a row and win it today at seven years of age; He’s remarkable. I’m thinking maybe we’ll bring him back and try again next year. That was really special. He’s an amazing racehorse and today’s performance was just fabulous.”

Mott, in admiration of the now six-time graded stakes winner, said, “He ran his rear end off. He gives it to you. He digs in and gives it to you. Not much more to say than that.”

Casa Creed, a five-time winner at Saratoga, was bred in Kentucky by Silver Springs Stud. The son of Jimmy Creed has amassed earnings of more than $2.4 million and his overall record stands at 33-9-5-5. Casa Creed is produced from the Bellamy Road mare Achalaya. He was a $105,000 graduate of the 2017 Keeneland September Sale where he was consigned by Kelli Mitchell and acquired by LRE Racing.
