Last year’s Kentucky Oaks (G1) victress Shedaresthedevil remained perfect at Churchill Downs on April 30, running her rivals off their feet in the La Troienne Stakes (G1) on Kentucky Oaks day.

Owned by Qatar Racing, Flurry Racing Stables, and Big Aut Farms, Shedaresthedevil put away a determined Envoutante in the late stages to win the 36th running of the La Troienne. Trained by Brad Cox and ridden by Florent Geroux, Shedaresthedevil covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:42.69 and improved her record to an unblemished 4-for-4 at Churchill Downs.

“She loves to race at Churchill; she showed it again today,” said Geroux. “They made me work hard for this. When we turned for home, she kept her head up and I could tell she was digging in. Those other fillies came to her, but she showed a lot of heart and a lot of grit and I knew she wasn’t going to let them by.”

Cox said, “This is huge. She has been training really well coming up to this. She’s moved forward at four. She has a lot of fight and determination down the lane. She showed that again today.”

Shedaresthedevil in a 4-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Daredevil. She is produced from the Congrats mare Starship Warpspeed. The $303,800 winner’s share of the purse increased her career bankroll to $1,807,118. She was bred by WinStar Farm and sold at the Keeneland November sale for $280,000.
